About
My research expertise focuses on using community-based participatory research and mixed-methodologies to develop mental health interventions and improved models of care with priority populations. This includes leading and contributing to projects focused on evaluating mental health interventions, safe access to gender-affirming therapy, creating affirming models of care and inclusive psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy protocols. I am currently a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at The University of Southern Queensland and Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, where I completed my PhD. I am a recognised leader within LGBTQA+ communities and was named ‘Ally of the Year’ by The University of Queensland in 2022 and in 2023 was nominated for the ‘Young Achievement Award’ in the Queens Ball Awards. I am a proud LGBTQA+ and neurodivergent person and have engaged in extensive advocacy work including serving on the Queensland Government’s LGBTQIA+ Advisory Panel and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation Advisory Board.
